Langkawi #1 2010 : Michael Matthews ouvre le bal

L’Australien Michael Matthews (Jayco-Skins) a remporté lundi la première étape du Tour de Langkawi, disputée entre Kota Bharu et Kuala Berang. Il s’est imposé au sprint au terme des 174,5 kilomètres de course devant l’Espagnol Vidal Celis (Footon-Servetto) et le Kazakh Ruslan Tleubayev (Kazakhstan).

Matthews, 19 ans à peine, remporte ainsi sa première grande victoire avec cette étape du Tour de Langkawi, et confirme un excellent début de saison qui l’a vu remporter le titre de champion d’Océanie espoirs du CLM, une étape du Tour de Wellington, et participer au Tour Down Under.
